This old volcano saw my entire childhood literally because our house is just located at the foot of Mt. Asog where I play, study and most of all do hard labor to earn money. My grandfathers’ land is located almost midway to the summit and we usually go there every weekend to either plant or harvest corn and other vegetable plant such as okra, eggplant, tomatoes, carrots etc. Mt. Asog has a special place in me since this is where my parents get most of our product to sustain our needs. Continue reading
Not the best time to travel to CamSur
Last Friday April 25, 2014 I booked for a 5:30pm trip in DLTB Buendia going to Bicol particularly in Pili, Cam Sur. The suppose to be 9 hours of travel became a grueling 12 hours of travel.
I arrived before 5:00 am in Pili, Camarines Sur where I am expected to the wedding of my cousin. Instead of me having at least another extra hour of sleep I ended up taking a shower preparing for the 8:00am wedding in Naga City Cathedral. I had a sandy eye while taking pictures during the wedding. Continue reading
Sarangani is a province of the Philippines located in the SOCCSKSARGEN region. Its capital is Alabel. With a 230 kilometres (140 mi) coastline along the Sarangani Bay and Celebes Sea, the province is at the southernmost tip of Mindanao Island, and borders South Cotabato to the north and Davao del Sur to the east.
Sarangani is part of the South Cotabato-Sultan Kudarat-Sarangani-Gen. Santos City (SOCCSKSARGEN) development cluster, and is linked by paved roads to the international airport and harbor of Gen. Santos City.
The province is divided into two parts, separated by the Sarangani Bay and General Santos City, and it used to be part of South Cotabato until it was made an independent province in 1992.
This entry is the first of the 4 days Mindanao adventure starting from Davao – General Santos – Saranggani – Lake Sebu – Davao last October 2013.
We arrived at Davao International airport by nighttime and waited for few more hours before boarding the bus going to General Santos. By around 6 am the following day we arrived at General Santos. We waited for our very kind hosts (Ate Weng and Kuya Jerry) coming from Koronadal. We traveled to Saranggani for more than 3 hours and then voila here is Isla Jardin Del Mar one of the famous beach resort in Saranggani.
